Roasted Cherry Tomato and Burrata Bruschetta Tips & Tricks
-
Use ripe tomatoes: The quality of your tomatoes will make a huge difference. Choose ripe, sweet cherry tomatoes for the best flavor. If they’re in season, they’re even better!
-
Don’t skip the broil: After roasting, broiling the tomatoes for 2-3 minutes really enhances the caramelization and flavor, giving your bruschetta a nice golden finish.
-
Let the tomatoes cool slightly: Let the tomatoes cool for a few minutes before topping them with the burrata so it doesn’t melt too quickly. This allows the cheese to stay creamy and intact on the tomatoes.
-
Add extra seasoning: While salt and pepper are a must, you can also experiment with adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat or a dash of garlic powder to intensify the flavor.
-
Toast the bread just right: If using a baguette, toast it until golden and crisp but not too hard—this will provide a perfect crunchy base that holds up well with the juicy tomatoes.
-
Fresh basil makes a big difference: Fresh basil is key! For an added touch, try using a combination of basil and a few leaves of fresh thyme or oregano for more aromatic depth.
-
Try different types of balsamic glaze: If you want an extra layer of flavor, experiment with flavored balsamic glazes (like fig or pomegranate) for a unique twist.
-
Make ahead: You can roast the tomatoes a day in advance and store them in the fridge. When ready to serve, simply reheat them and assemble the bruschetta.
-
Customize the cheese: If you’re not a fan of burrata, fresh mozzarella or goat cheese can be a great alternative – both bring a creamy texture that pairs well with the tomatoes.
-
Serve immediately: This bruschetta is best enjoyed fresh. The crispy bread and creamy cheese are perfect when served right away, so try to assemble it just before serving to maintain the textures.
