Where to buy retro chocolate bars

We’ve talked a fair bit about our favourite retro sweets, but retro chocolate bars haven’t had much of a look in so far. It’s about time we rectified that. You can’t beat a good chocolate bar, and in all honestly, we’re a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing our favourite retro chocolate bars. But, good folk that we are, we thought we’d give it a try just for you and share our tips on where to buy them.

Our favourite retro chocolate bars and where to find them

If you remember the good old days where chocolate bars seemed huge and tasted great, then you’re in for a treat. We’ve spent ages scouring the shops to bring you the very best retro chocolate that money can buy.

Cadbury Starbar

Remember these tasty classics from Cadbury? I can just taste these now. Cadbury describes them as:

Delicious Cadbury milk chocolate, surrounding a chewy cosmos of golden caramel and a blast of peanut that’s out of this world!

We found a great selection of Starbars available to buy on Amazon.

Bourneville Chocolate Bars

Bourneville chocolate dates all the way back to 1908 and it has always been a popular choice. It has a really unique taste and makes a great gift for any retro chocolate fan. As it’s such a popular gift, you can often buy gift sets which include items from Bourneville’s history and heritage.

Cadbury Fuse

Another classic, retro treat from Cadbury was the Cadbury Fuse chocolate bar. The Fuse features 70% solid chocolate, 30% nuts, peanuts, raisins, crisp cereal and fudge pieces. These are delicious!

These retro chocolate bars have proven a little tricky to find still for sale. However, we have found a selection available on eBay.

Curly Wurly

The Curly Wurly has been popular for decades. Whether you love them rock hard and straight from the fridge or you’d rather chomp on that caramel at room temperature, these are definitely a retro classic.

You can buy Curly Wurly bars pretty easily, they’re still available to buy in most shops, but if you fancy a real treat then we’ve found this box of 60 available on Amazon! That should keep you in stock for a while.

You can even buy these in treat sized bags now too. They’re known as Curly Wurly Squirlies!

Cadbury Flake

You cannot beat a Cadbury Flake! The way they crumple and then melt in your mouth is simply divine. As with the Curly Wurly, you can buy these really easily, in fact pretty much every corner shop still stocks them. They’re also still used in the classic 99 ice cream. Yum, yum!

Rowntree’s Secret

These bars were manufactured during the 1980s and 90s and tasted amazing! The packaging was golden, making them feel like a real treat! The bars consisted of a creamy mousse filling and they were incredibly popular.

Unfortunately, these are no longer made despite petitions on Facebook and other platforms in recent years! So, we can’t share where to buy the Secret bars, you never know, they may make a reappearance at some point in the future!
