A Look Back at Horlicks Tablets

I’ve always loved Horlicks. Back when I was a child, we used to get Horlicks Malted Milk tablets. I remember them coming in a tube and we’d be given one in the evening before we went to bed.

What is Horlicks?

Horlicks is a malted milk food supplement. These days it’s most commonly sold as Horlicks powder. You mix the powder with hot water to get a hot, malted milk drink. Many people swear that drinking a cup of hot Horlicks just before bed helps them to fall asleep.

Horlicks Tablets

Horlicks tablets were first introduced way back in the 1930s. They were supplied to British and American troops as a quick and easy way to get nourishment during the war.

It’s not clear when Horlicks tablets were discontinued, but I definitely remember enjoying them during the eighties.
