Cadbury Bar Six

Cadbury’s Bar Six

Cadbury’s Bar Six was a popular chocolate snack introduced in the 1960s and loved by many during its lifetime. This British confectionery classic, produced by the iconic Cadbury brand, was a tasty combination of wafer and chocolate.

The Bar Six originally came in an orange wrapper and looked similar to a Kit Kat with six fingers of chocolate stuck together just like a larger version of the Kit Kat. Later, the wrapper adopted the classic purple wrapper that we’ve all come to associate with Cadbury’s Dairy Milk.

The Bar Six gained a loyal following for its unique and delightful texture. Its distinctive flavours satisfied chocolate lovers seeking a light yet indulgent snack. Cadbury’s innovative approach to the chocolate snack market with the Bar Six not only resonated with consumers but also played a significant role in shaping the confectionery landscape in the UK.

What Did Cadbury's Bar Six Taste Like?

Cadbury’s Bar Six was a tasty chocolate treat loved by many. The taste of this unique chocolate bar was a combination of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate and distinct fillings that set it apart from other bars of the time.

The outer layer of Dairy Milk chocolate provided a smooth and creamy texture that melted in your mouth. This delicious chocolate encased the other ingredients within the Bar Six, such as the tasty hazelnut cream and the crispy wafer.

When was Cadbury’s Bar Six Discontinued?

The Bar Six first came about in the 1960s and was popular right through to the seventies. In fact, as time went on, the crispy, hazelnut bar became increasingly popular, so it’s a mystery why it disappeared. Like many other retro sweets and chocolate bars that bring back fond memories, I’m sure the Bar Six would sell really well if it was brought back today.

Back in the seventies, I guess you could compare the Bar Six to the Dairy Milk Freddo we know and love today. Not in taste, but in the way that everyone loved them. For that reason, it’s a bit of a mystery why these bars were discontinued, but they did disappear during the eighties and haven’t been seen again since.
